This process entails the identification of potential impacts (positive and negative) that are associated with a proposed activity (e.g. development of a filling station, housing development projects, or the laying of pipelines for transportation of oil, gas and water).
Thereafter mitigations measures are developed in order to decrease or eliminate the negative potential impacts and increase the positive potential impacts so as to achieve sustainable development. Post submission of the application to the relevant Department, the desired result would the issuance of an Environmental Authorization, giving the go-ahead to commence with the proposed project. The client would have to adhere to the conditions of that Environmental Authorization.
